Between them, Pedro Carazo, Debbie Lawson and Deric Blacker, lost 3 businesses, 2 homes, a child, and a close friend, on February 22nd 2011. All three owned businesses in Christchurch's central city and, despite personal losses and professional struggles, all three decided to re-establish themselves, but on the outskirts of the city.
So as the new city centre take shape, we take them back to the central city and ask if they'll ever return.

What wonderful people - they really have re-built their lives. Fascinating problem for the central city - how to work for the people who live here, not the international chain stores here only for customers.
